In April 1994, City Council adopted Chapter 297 of the Toronto Municipal Code, otherwise known as the Signs By-Law. Section 10 D of the by-law regulates fascia signs and states that:
In the case of a sign used for the purposes of third-party advertising, the sign is not permitted on a building wall that faces a [...]

Section 297 11 (D) (f) of the former City of Toronto Municipal Code regulates the height of billboards that are built on the side walls of buildings and states:
In the case of a fascia sign used for the purposes of third-party advertising and located on a wall not facing a street, it is not [...]

We’ve taken a look at 193/195 Spadina Ave before. In Audit: 193 Spadina, we looked at the enforcement against the illegal billboard on the north wall of this building. Today we look at the south wall.
