Danny Starnino’s IMA Outdoor Illegally Converts Tippet-Richardson Sign to Third Party

Danny Starnino can’t stop breaking the law.

The Tippet-Richardson sign, at Richmond East and the DVP, was somewhat of a landmark. This is what it used to look like:

Third-party signage has been prohibited within 45 metres of the DVP since the late 1950s; this building was built and the roof sign was permitted after those restrictions came into force (the sign is located within 28 m of the Parkway).

IllegalSigns.ca had a hunch that the location was about to be taken over by a billboard company once the first party T-R sign was removed. We took this photograph early this summer:

Starnino’s company has now begun selling this space to media buyers. This is what it looks like today:

Because of the sign’s proximity to the DVP, we will not have any problems getting MLS to proceed with enforcement action against this location.

    Mr. Tabello,
There’s a valid sign permit dated Aug 6th, 1993 and it even references a 3rd party advertiser. Tippet-Richardson advertised only because they had the availability of the sign, not because it was 1st party. Get your facts right and stop with your deformation practices.

Yeah, I’ll stop the deformation right away. -Rami
