CBS Outdoor Builds Two Illegal Billboards at Cherry Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East

We previously took at look at CBS Outdoor’s initiative to replace its legal non-conforming ground sign structures with new structures in At Victoria Park and the Danforth, Aerial Photographs Prove CBS Outdoor Built Two Illegal Billboards Sometime After 2003.

These things are easy to spot. All you have to do is look for a single-legged CBS Outdoor ground sign in a non-conforming location, and check for a variance; if no variance was granted, confirm it was altered by looking at the aerial photographs. You can also tell the age of a CBS Outdoor location by looking at the number plate. Any location with a 4-digit number plate lower than 3000 was originally built before 1990, when CBS Outdoor still used double-legged and triple-legged structures. These two signs are #2023 and #2033. After 3000, the locations are chronologically sequential, with the most recent builds around #6400.

Here are the 2003 aerial photographs for the two signs in the above picture:

A careful examination of the photograph indicates that the shadows cast by the afternoon summertime  sun indicate that both signs were originally built with three legs each:

These skills save on filing FOIs.
