Abcon Outdoor is Jurisdiction Shopping with 14′x48′ Roof Sign Scheme
This was Abcon Outdoor’s plan to build two 14′x48′ billboards in Councillor Michael Walker’s ward at Yonge and Eglinton:

The billboards would incorporate a depiction of Charles Ebbetts’ “Lunch atop a Skyscraper.” Abcon Media was shot down by the local residents association and the local City Councillor after producing this lengthy presentation [PDF]:
After being rejected in Councillor Walker’s ward, Abcon has moved their application for the statues and the billboards to a more friendly jurisdiction — Councillor Stintz’s ward. Abcon is now proposing to build the signs at 3442 Yonge Street:
City Staff need to stop this jurisdiction shopping; they need to have a variance process that can’t by hijacked by billboard companies that take advantage of parochial decision making at Community Councils.
