Idiotic Astral Media Campaign Makes Light Of TTC Subway Platform Suicides

According to Astral Media’s Street Furniture contract [heavily-redacted PDF] with the City of Toronto for the provision of advertising on transit shelters, Astral Media is required to “review all advertising prior to its installation on the [street furniture] to identify any advertising” that is not “in accordance with good taste.”

Apparently, Astral Media thinks it’s in good taste to make fun of platform suicides on the TTC subway system.

Steve Munro has also chimed in with this blog post.

Meanwhile, we can safely bet that the Information and Privacy Commissioner is about to require the City to release the entire unredacted Street Furniture contract between Astral Media and the City. Stay tuned.
