Illegal Pattison Pillar on TEDCO Property
TEDCO, the out-of-control city agency that is soon to be put out of its misery by Build Toronto, has an illegal Pattison Pillar on its Commissioners Street property.
This is 51 Commissioners Street:
There are two other pillars on nearby TEDCO lots. We are still investigating those. In the meantime, this one is clearly illegal because it is built on the road allowance.
Even if a third-party pedestal sign was permitted on this site, it would have to be located more than 2 metres from the street line. According to map.toronto.ca, there is very little room between the street line and the front of this building:

Putting the Pattison sign squarely on the road allowance:
Only Pattison Outdoor would built a sign on a road with so little visibility that all the transit shelters, including this one, are ad-free.
Elsewhere on TEDCO property, Astral Media operates this 14′x48′ expressway/DVP sign. That sign was granted a variance in the early 1990s on the basis that the site would soon be developed.
