Buildings Department Issues Illegal Billboard Permit in Leslieville
The permit for this sign at 1156 Queen St East was obtained by Andrew Sim of Motomedia. In order to obtain the permit, Sim had to file false information with respect to Separation of Signs. He falsely attested that the fascia sign at 1156 Queen Street East was not located within 60 metres of another third party sign:

The sign is located within 60 metres, and across the street from, this Pattison Outdoor ground sign at the 7/11.
The illegal sign was inspected by Building Inspector Dan Bogden who botched the inspection on March 19, 2002:

Motomedia had three signs in the City - this one, Church and Dundas, and one on Dupont Street. The Church and Dundas sign obtained a variance and the Dupont Street sign was recently abandoned.

Ummmm….. unfortunately the billboard in question at 1156 Queen E is west of Jones, not east of Coxwell and doesn’t fall into the prohibited zone.
As well, not all the lots on Queen E are zoned commercial. I live in one of many residences that front on Queen and are zoned as residential.
That’s been fixed. Prohibited district applies to the Beaches only. The Motomedia sign is illegal strictly because of 60 M separations. Ground and roof signs are not permitted on Queen because of both residential zoning and commercial zoning. -Rami
