Pattison’s Steve McGregor Has His Way With Mount Pleasant Road

If Steve McGregor had to obey the law, would Pattison Outdoor need Steve McGregor?

Pattison Outdoor’s leasing manager invented the illegal 10′x40′ roof sign on a 10′x35′ permit then propagated them all around North York. In downtown, he’s been up to his old tricks again.

Today we look at the illegal roof sign that Pattison recently built on Mount Pleasant Road. Pattison Outdoor has hardly any inventory on Mount Pleasant and McGreggor needed some signs here to round out his portfolio. All of the 10 or so roof signs on the street are operated by CBS Outdoor. Roof signs are strictly prohibited on Mount Pleasant and a roof sign has not been constructed on this street for over 15 years owning to prohibitions in both the zoning and signs by-laws. But those laws couldn’t stop Steve McGregor.

This is what 514 Mount Pleasant Road looked like two years ago:

With no permit whatsoever, Pattison built these signs:

The illegal CBS fascia sign at 518 Mount Pleasant which we wrote about in Compliance on Mount Pleasant? is still down. Note the blank wall with the CBS nameplate:

This is the 2006 satellite map of Mount Pleasant, between Millwood Road and Belsize Drive. Notice that there is no roof sign at 514 Mount Pleasant:

We’d tell Steve McGregor to take all the illegal roof signs he’s built and shove them up his ass.

But nobody is that much of an asshole.
