Another Pattison Sign Built on the Sidewalk
In Buildings Department Issues Illegal Permits to Erect Two Pattison Billboards on the Sidewalk we told you about two Pattison signs on Dundas West that obtained improper permits to be built on the road allowance.
In Illegal In Etobicoke: Pattison’s Highway 27 10′X40′ we told you about a Pattison sign that was built without a permit on the Highway 27 road allowance.
Today, another Pattison sign on the roadway, this time at 1507 Dupont Street:

Take a close look and you will see that the street ad sign is built along the same area as the Mediacom shelter. Our reading of the City’s property mapping indicates that the sign is outside the property line, delineated in pink:

If Pattison built the sign on private property, it would bring into jeopardy a parking space.
In April, this permit was issued to demolish the buildings on this lot. The sign wasn’t taken down.
UPDATE: This sign has now been moved to its legal location. Please see Pillar Legalized at Dupont and Symington But Pattison has Another Problem Down the Street.

Hmmm…sounds like a good job for the local scrap metal scavengers in our neighbourhood.

It must have been a gas station quite some time ago.
I would add that I am forwarding this to Giambrone as this sign I have found to block the view of traffic coming east when one is making a right from Symington. Its actually dangerous.
I would also note all the other stuff on the corner as well.
I can’t figure out why the permit says gas station. I remember a chicken shop. -Rami
