In today’s Audit of By-Law Enforcement, we take a look at Astral Media’s sign at 340 Adelaide Street West. This sign was removed in early 2007. Here’s what it lokes like:

In September 2001, with this permit application, Mitch Armata of Strategic Media applied for and obtained permit 01-174652 to paint a 79 square metre mural on the westerly wall of 340 Adelaide:

Mitch, of course, erected a vinyl fascia sign instead and then, like his sign at 174 Spadina, sub-leased it to Astral. Now, let’s look at Municipal Licensing and Standards’ investigation of this sign.

On June 23, 2006, MLS officer Emilio Perri attended the site and took this photo of the sign which was, by that time, nameplated to Astral:

Two days later, on July 25, 2006, Perri wrote in his notes “OK. SYSTEM PERMIT EXISTS. SEE 01-174652:”
