Illegal In Etobicoke: Pattison’s Highway 27 10′X40′
Along Highway 27, where billboards are not permitted to be erected within 400 Metres, Pattison Outdoor has erected an illegal billboard at 161 Skyway without a permit. Or did it? The sign was built on Highway 27′s public road allowance. Building on the road allowance is pretty typical of Pattison’s Street Ads but we haven’t seen it with their ground signs. This is what the sign looks like, it is on the west side of Highway 27, just north of the 401:

The sign is located just west of the northwest corner of the 161 Skyway Ave lot. The 2005 City of Toronto map shows no billboard at this location:
That’s not surprising since the billboard’s Sonotube concrete tube was manufactured on October 21, 2005:
