“Reprehensible.” McConnell, Mihevc (and Barber) slam Clear Channel.

The Globe and Mail this morning covered the issue of Clear Channel threatening to sue the Toronto Public Space Committee for filing complaints against illegal billboards by way of a Jeff Grey article and a scathing and brilliant John Barber column who puts the TPSC in the same boat as the Dixie Chicks and John Lennon. Read our original piece on Clear Channel’s threats, which caused the fuss.

We were delighted to see Councillor McConnell call Clear Channel’s threats “reprehensible.” Councillor Mihevc suggested Clear Channel’s actions “should jeopardize Clear Channel’s chances” at winning the street furniture contract. Both McConnell and Mihevc are on the Executive Committee which will be considering “street furniture” on April 30th.

The Globe also covered our allegation of conflict of interest against the director of street furniture project, which we reported yesterday. Meanwhile, The Toronto Star published our letter to the editor.
